Randy Gibbs - Edina, MN Randy is Jenny and Becky's brother. He enjoys cross-country skiing, cycling and playing his guitar. Randy is a service technician for the US Ski Team from November through March traveling around the world and a location scout and bartender from April through October. He also coaches a junior ski program for 8 weeks over the summer. He currently lives in Hopkins, MN. |
Becky Lavelle - Los Gatos, CA Becky was born in Minneapolis Minnesota on December 5, 1974, sixteen minutes before her fraternal twin sister Jenny. Her brother Randy is 4 years older than her. Growing up she was a competitive swimmer and attended LSU on a swimming scholarship. Becky received a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology and became a Professional Triathlete in 1998. She's been training and racing since then, competing all over the world. She has also done some coaching and personal training over the years. Becky married fellow triathlete Brian Lavelle on December 28, 2002. |
Sandy Gibbs - Minnetonka, MN Sandy is a part-time senior care-giver and full time housewife. She is an expert gardener, seamstress and cook, among other things. She loves to go to the cabin with her dog, Honeybear and her husband Bob. |
Bob Gibbs - Minnetonka, MN Bob is a retired biology teacher who continues to teach and coach swimming at Wayzata Country Club during the summer. An avid fisherman, Bob also likes to bike and walk with his wife Sandy. |
Nicole Kustermann Nicole is a partner at the downtown, Minneapolis law firm of Yost & Baill, LLP. She graduated with a business degree from theUniversity of Wisconsin-Madison, and received her law degree from William Mitchell College of Law. Nicole is a long-time friend of the Gibbs family. She lives in Maple Grove, MN, with her husband Kyle and herson, Gavin. |
Karen Jennings McCarren Karen is a long-time friend of the Gibbsfamily. She grew up swimming and then competed in Crew for IthacaCollege where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Scienceand Masters Degree in Physical Therapy. Karen enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, running, and spending time with her husband and two young boys. |
Jesse Kuendig, LGSW Jesse is a licensed graduate social worker and received her Master's degree from the University of Chicago. She has worked in child welfare, community mental health, and hospital settings. She most recently was the Clinical Coordinator of the Perinatal Depression Program of Evanston Northwestern Healthcare in the Chicago area. Jesse is enjoying getting to know Minnesota and spending time with her husband and new daughter. |
Dr. Helen Kim M.D. Dr. Kim is a Harvard and Buffalo School of Medicineeducated Doctor and Director of the Hennepin County Medical Center Women's Mental Health Program. She specializes in psychiatry and is a well-regarded speaker on the subject ofPostpartum Psychiatric Disorders. She is also a Clinical Asst Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota. |
Alison DeWall Hankins - Minneapolis, MN Alison grew up swimming with Jenny and Becky and has remained close friends with the Gibbs family ever since. Alison has over 15 years experience in Marketing and PR, including positions with the U.S. Olympic Committee (USA Triathlon) and Target Corp. Alison and her husband, Jared, recently welcomed their first child, Ivy, into the world on February 8, 2008. She looks forward to honoring Jenny's legacy by raising national awareness of perinatal mood disorders through media and communications outreach. |
Kari Strauman- Minneapolis, MN Kari has had a lifelong relationship with the Gibbs family. She grew up with Jenny and Becky,and has always looked up to them. She joins the Board of Directors with a strong background in Sales and Event Coordination. In her freetime she enjoys dancing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Ellie Ulrich Zuehlke Ellie experienced postpartum depression following the birth of her son Graham in 2004. She has shared her story publicly, including through the national PBS documentary "Depression: Out of the Shadows," in hopes of changing public policy, raising awareness, and providing hope to women and families struggling with PPD. With preventative treatment and support, Ellie and her family welcomed son Gus in May 2008 without a recurrence of PPD. Ellie has a master's degree in public health and serves as Director of Community Benefit for Allina Hospitals & Clinics. |
